People need spiritual support in times of crisis. Besides the primary care of friends reaching out to friends, there are several ministries involving broader outreach to those who are hurting.
The Visitation Team visits and prays with people in the hospital, retirement and nursing homes, and their own homes. Members of the team visiting Presbyterians in the hospital are required by Sky Lakes Medical Center to be trained in hospital protocol and to be on an approved list from FPC signed by the pastor.
A team member daily visits and prays with any signed-in Presbyterian. The name and phone number of the team member on rotation for each week is printed in the Sunday bulletin or you may contact the church office (541) 884-7781 for the name and phone number of the team member on call.
Regular visits are also made to those church members who are in retirement homes, nursing homes, or home-bound due to physical limitations. In this way, these church members have continuing contact with the congregation and benefit from having a caring person visiting and praying with them. Members of the Visitation Team also occasionally provide rides for people to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, etc. If you are interested in becoming a “visitor,” contact Lee Woods (541) 892-4925 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
