I Believe in God but I’m in Charge of My Sex Life

Preacher:
Passage: Genesis 1:27-28, 2:18, 21-25; 1 Corinthians 6:13-14, 18-20
Worship:

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number…” Genesis 1:27-28

The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. Genesis 2:18, 21-25

“You say, ‘Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.’” 1 Corinthians 6:13

“The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body” (vs. 13)

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
