CityServe is a community initiative aimed at transforming the city through service. Every year, the churches of the Klamath Basin and its community partners come together to serve the community through projects that address tangible needs. This annual event, Give Back Day, brings everyone together for a day of impactful service.
Give Back Day for Spring 2025 will be in April or May before school is out. Stay tuned for the exact date, and mark your calendars to join us for this meaningful event!
In 2023, CityServe accomplished remarkable projects based on our focal points:
1. Homelessness:
- Long-term efforts: CityServe initiated a significant collaboration to address homelessness in the community. The gathering brought together various groups with a shared mission to reduce the number of homeless individuals in the area.
- Short-term efforts: CityServe organized a range of immediate support measures for the homeless population, including hot meals, healthcare services, counseling, and employment assistance. There was also a powerful initiative to offer prayer for each homeless person, providing a deeply meaningful approach to support.
2. Clean-up and Restoration:
- CityServe successfully organized a large-scale clean-up event, engaging many volunteers. This included a successful Tidy Town event and plans for future clean-up activities, bringing the community together to beautify public spaces and contribute to a cleaner environment.
Other accomplishments of 2023 included:
- The construction of a playground at Moore Park.
- Successful graffiti removal efforts.
- Completion of a bike path in Chiloquin.
- Improvements in Mills Addition.
- Renovation of the historic Hirvi building.
- Volunteering for the Chi-Town Family Festival.
- Storefront beautification efforts.
- Participation in the Christmas Lights Display in the park.
We are grateful for the immense support from Pastor Richard, the Chair of CityServe, and all the dedicated individuals, churches, and community partners who make these projects possible.
